Gidazepam or hydazepam, hidazepam is a sedative, anxiolytic, typical benzodiazepine derivative. Gidazepam was developed in the Soviet Union and is used in medicine.
Interacts with benzodiazepine receptors, increases the sensitivity of GABA receptors to the mediator, and enhances the inhibitory effects of GABA in the CNS. Reduces excitability of subcortical structures of the brain, inhibits polysynaptic spinal reflexes. Reduces emotional tension, eases anxiety, fear and restlessness. It has an activating effect, vegetostabilizing properties, and a weak muscle relaxant and soporific effect. It has practically no effect on the productive symptomatology of psychotic genesis (acute delirium, hallucinatory and affective disorders). There is evidence of a positive effect on the cardiovascular system in patients with neurological conditions and in healthy individuals in stressful situations.
Gidazepam enhances the CNS effects of alcohol, sleeping pills, neuroleptics, and narcotic analgesics.
