4-Hydroxy-N-ethyl-N-propyltryptamine(4-HO-EPT, Eprocin) is a psychedelic drug of the tryptamine class that causes psychedelic effects, a homologue of 4-HO-DMT(psilocin), having a similar structure and properties.
The chemical structure of 4-HO-EPT is similar to 4-HO-DMT, a bicyclic indole heterocycle, connects in R3 to the amino group via a side chain, but 4-HO-EPT is replaced by the OH group on R4 and has propyl and ethyl chains that are linked to the RN of its tryptamine base.
4-HO-EPT is called a serotonergic psychodeic, it is a partial agonist of the 5-HT2A receptors.
This drug can cause such effects as stimulation, pupil dilation, color enhancement, strong euphoria (some compare it with opoidna), visual effects.
Side effects are possible with overdose of the dosage of the drug, a dose of more than 70 mg, such as vomiting, palpitations, delirium.
The development of tolerance to 4-HO-EPT is formed immediately after admission and it will take at least 7 days to restore it.
