Description
Pyrazolam is a sedative, antidepressant of the benzodiazepine class and has structural similarities to alprazolam and bromazepam. It has sedative properties, suppresses anxiety, muscle relaxation, euphoria. This drug was developed by Hoffman-La Roche in the 1970s, but has only become popular today, as a designer drug (since 2012, sales are online).
Pyrazolam can cause severe physical and mental dependence, and it is recommended that the dosage be gradually reduced if the drug is withdrawn.
The chemical structure is similar to other benzodiazepines, pyrazolam contains a 1-methylated triazole ring fused to R1 and R2 of the diazepine ring and belongs to the class of benzodiazepines containing this fused triazole ring.
Pyrazolam acts on benzodiazepine receptors and enhances the action of the neurotransmitter aminobutyric acid (GABA), which leads to a sedative effect. It can enhance the effects of other benzodiazepines and opioids, which can lead to unpredictable consequences. Pyrazolam may cause respiratory depression in high doses.
